Default New Option - Skip Intro Cinematics

I do not think it is just me who gets annoyed at the repetitive cinematic in Heroes' Ascent(HA) and Alliance Battles (AB). I am sure there are people out there who like to watch these again and again but I believe that it would be favorable for the majority of the players in HA and AB if Anet would integrate the option "to AUTOMATICALLY SKIP INTRODUCTION CINEMATIC IN PVP AREAS." Of course, clicking the "skip" button has somewhat became second nature to most players in HA and AB and this shows that short introduction scenes are negligible and unnecessary. Agreed?

P.S.: I only propose this option in PvP Areas since it does not require the entire party to click skip in order to skip a cinematic.Since these introduction scenes serve no purposes in HA and AB then they should not exist at all. Come to think about this matter, Anet did not make introduction scenes to the newly added maps, Fetid River and Antechamber. Why did they not make movie scenes for these maps? I think it is because it has nothing to do with the main story line of Guild Wars. If most players are going to click the "skip" button every time they go in a match, then that is a sign that it is irrelevant and it should be removed. So please, do not call me lazy, I know it takes little effort to click skip (I have been clicking the skip button for the past 3 years) but these scenes have became an annoyance overtime. Plus, what is the harm in removing these scenes? or add an option to skip them automatically?

P.P.S.: If you are going to call me lazy, take a look at yourself. You are sitting in front of your computer screen playing a video game and surfing the internet on a game forum. Why call me lazy when I have not yet said anything about you guys been lazy? Once again, I am just proposing an idea so please understand. The poll above is my evidence to back up this proposal. I will make sure Anet gets this by filing a support ticket. Thank You all for the support!

The question for the poll above has been fixed to the following: Do you skip the short introduction scenes in HA and/or AB?

Lazy much? As soon as you load press Escape. It doesn't take that much effort, honestly.

I agree, sure it's effortless. But it does get annoying. It's pointless to explain how to AB with r7.

I don't like where this is going ... please, if you are going to post here, be contributive. No "Don't be so lazy posts". These are not a meaningful assessment of the OP's suggestion - they are merely a meaningless personal attack, and will be deleted. If you wish to criticise the suggestion on the grounds of it being un-necessarry, then back it up with evidence.

Personally, I think that those dedicated PvPers don't have any need to view these cinematics, and an auto-skip option would be a welcome addition, even though the effort needed to click skip / press escape is minimal, and you get used to it. Still, /signed from me.

Because rank sure means something. Especially if someone HFFF's/afks with someone.

Stop being lazy. At least you don't have to have your whole party skip it before you can all move. I'd love to have all cinematics work like that.

HA and AB, yes. There's no real reason not to just use a variable for the account - after the player has skipped a cutscene, stop showing it in subsequent matches, permanently.

Thank you, Zahr Dalsk for reminding me of AB. I did not mean to make this just for HA, AB also requires the same treatment since, as I have said before, these movie scenes serve no purposes whatsoever. New players need not to be aware of these scenes since it does not tell the players anything important. Anything important have already been stated in the mission goal box. I will link the AB part of this forum to this thread to collect more votes so I can have enough evidence to persuade Anet to remove these scenes from the game.

Couldn't agree more, please add this feature to the AB if you're gonna add it to the HA too!

Just add the blasted option to the options menu and I bet the people who called you lazy will instantly check that box as well.

Fine for me, although I think the priorities of the developers should be at more important issues.

If it wasn't for lazy people trying to make the world a a little bit easier for themselves we would still be living in caves.

If I wanted a runthrough of the objetives and map layout I wouldn't be skipping it every game. And considering this is an option...

You actually learn more just playing AB/HA or having guild members explain to you than the cutscene will teach...

While it's a nice alert to tell me what map HA's skipped to or that AB's finally loaded while I'm in the kitchen fixing a drink, having it as an option would certainly reduce the redundancy of the movie scenes for most people, and while it's not the most important of issues this change shouldn't be causing grief to anyone not holier-than-thou.

I always skip the cinematics when I'm not AFK, anyway.

When it comes to AB or HA I find the cinematics aren't really necessary to have in the first place. Instead of automatically skipping it, I'd perhaps like to see it taken off the beginning of the mission to begin with and have an NPC with whom you can choose to watch it (a-la scrying pool in EOTN). At this point in the game's life I think most people have seen it, and the OP is right, it does get repetitive.

The less that contributes to my already existing RSI the better.

btw you should also do this for gvg and ab and whereever else you have a cinematic 'cept for pve. like an autoskip option(thats not what youre saying is it, youre saying remove? not sure no time to read:P flame me pl0x)
